Aluminum Dining Chair

Aluminum Dining Chair

An exploration of bent aluminum and carved wood.

The Aluminum Dining Chair began with an interest in laser-cutting and bending aluminum, and its interaction with carved wood. A question guided the exploration: how could the form become interesting in its own right?

The wood introduces a tactile contrast and a visual break, while providing a direct fixing point for the aluminum in the proposed construction. Curves and openings developed through sketches and digital models, testing proportions and following what felt interesting.

At the back, the bent aluminum frames a glimpse of the upholstery. The detail recalls a backless dress, revealing just enough to invite a closer look.
